Companies (Amendment of Eighth Schedule) Order 2025

On 10 January 2025, the Companies Act 2016 was amended in the Eighth Schedule by deleting paragraph 1 and paragraph 2, adding new paragraph 2A, amending paragraph 3, paragraph 9, paragraph 10, and subparagraph 12(a).

The amendment will come into operation on 31 January 2025.

Income Tax (Exemption) (No. 5) Order 2019 (Amendment) Order 2025

On 13 January 2025, the Income Tax (Exemption) (No. 5) Order 2019 [P.U. (A) 161/2019] was amended in paragraph 3 by substituting for subsubparagraph (3)(a) and insertion of new paragraph 3A.

The Order takes from the year of assessment 2025.

Income Tax (Exemption) (No. 6) Order 2019 (Amendment) Order 2025

On 13 January 2025, the Income Tax (Exemption) (No. 6) Order 2019 [P.U. (A) 162/2019] was amended in paragraph 3 by substituting for subsubparagraph (2)(a) and insertion of new paragraph 2A.

The Order takes effect from the year of assessment 2025.

Stamp Duty (Exemption) Order 2025

On 14 January 2025, the Minister exempts the instruments specified in the Schedule for the purchase of a flat under the National Economic Action Council People’s Housing Programme and Kuala Lumpur City Hall Public Housing executed from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2027 from stamp duty.

The Order has effect from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2027.
