SSM - Lodgement of Beneficial Ownership Information Via e-Bos

On 1 August 2024, Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) issued a notice advising companies to lodge and rectify their beneficial ownership (BO) information via the electronic beneficial ownership system (e-Bos) platform by 30 September 2024 without incurring any rectification fees.

Companies shall keep a register of beneficial owners (BO) and lodge the BO information as well as any changes thereof within 14 days from the date of record in the register of BO. The company and every officer who contravene section 60B of the Companies Act 2016 shall on conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding RM20,000.

Companies are encouraged to lodge the BO information via e-Bos at the earliest possible to avoid system delays and congestion when the deadline approaches.
