We write to inform students that, with effect from 1 January 2020, there will be a new ICSA Qualifying Programme (ICSA QP) which will replace the current ICSA International Qualifying Scheme (ICSA IQS). The first examination of the ICSA QP will be the June 2020 examination.

ICSA QP The ICSA QP will comprise seven (7) modules as follows: Details of the syllabus, reading lists and pilot papers for all the modules in the ICSA QP will be made available to all students and tuition providers in the near future. Students who successfully complete the ICSA QP will be admitted as Graduates of the Institute and upon eligibility to upgrade as Associate members, will be awarded the dual designation of Chartered Secretary and Chartered Governance Professional. All students under the current ICSA IQS will also be awarded the dual designation of Chartered Secretary and Chartered Governance Professional when they eventually upgrade to Associateship, after completing the ICSA IQS examinations and becoming Graduates of the Institute. |

Transitional arrangements The last examination under the current ICSA IQS will be the December 2019 examination and we would encourage all existing students to try and complete their outstanding ICSA IQS papers by then. Students who have not completed their ICSA IQS examinations following the release of the ICSA IQS December 2019 examination results will be transferred to the ICSA QP. The transitional arrangements from the existing ICSA IQS to the ICSA QP are as follows:
Students should note that there will be no corresponding credit granted for the subject of Taxation in the new qualifying programme. The Institute will communicate with all existing students who will be transferred to the ICSA QP on the outstanding modules they will be required to complete under the new programme. |

Examinations From 1 January 2020, ICSA examinations will be held in the first week of June and the last week of November of each year. The first examination for the ICSA QP will be the June 2020 examination. Existing ICSA IQS students therefore have three examination diets (December 2018, June 2019 and December 2019) to complete their outstanding papers under the ICSA IQS. Additionally, under the ICSA QP, all papers will be required to be completed by examination only. Students will no longer be able to complete their papers by way of CPE seminars and assignments. |
