CPD is measured in learning hours. 1 CPD hour equals to 1 learning hour. The CPD hours can be obtained from the following recognised CPD learning activities. MAICSA Members are required to keep a full record of the CPD activities, as MAICSA will monitor CPD of Members by way of random selection of Members in each calendar year to ensure standards are being met.
Criteria for all the recognised CPD activities:

b. | The Approved Topics should cover the discipline of Accounting, Company Secretarial Practice, Corporate Governance, Finance, Human Resource, Information Technology, Law, Management, Soft Skills and Taxation. |

Relevant tertiary or postgraduate courses |
Maximum 20 CPD hours per calendar year Applicable to Members who are currently pursuing Certificated courses, diplomas or degrees at recognised institutions of higher learning. For example, if a Member is currently pursuing a diploma, degree or postgraduate course, the duration of which is more than 1 year, the Member can claim 20 CPD hours for each calendar year. This is not applicable if the Member has completed the tertiary education or post graduate course before the current CPD Year i.e 2015. |

CPD hours can be obtained by presenting, chairing or forming part of a panel for accredited seminars or conferences or technical dialogues as per criteria of recognised CPD activities. CPD hours are credited based on the number of hours scheduled and the number of hours spent in preparation for seminars and / or conferences organised by the Institute or other recognised organisations. (Note: Repeated Topics are not applicable). Permitted CPD hours for preparation are as follows:
