MAICSA Annual Conference 2022

The governance role is fast expanding and becoming more essential and challenging. It requires us to be more resilient with the challenges that we face in whilst conducting our businesses. Hence, Company Secretaries, as advisors as well as Governance Practitioners, who are entrusted to lead the governance practices of companies need to step up to transform the challenges into opportunities.

With this, the theme “Challenging the Challenges in Governance” was coined for the Institute’s flagship event namely MAICSA Annual Conference 2022.

The Annual Conference 2022 was successfully held on 5 and 6 October 2022 which attracted more than 900 delegates virtually vide the Zoom platform.

The opening ceremony was officiated by YBhg. Datuk Nor Azimah Abdul Aziz, the Chief Executive Officer of the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) as the Guest of Honour. She also delivered a Keynote Address.

The two-day Conference provided extensive insights on the latest regulatory updates as well as Bursa listing requirements, ESG issues, alternative types of financing for SMEs, tax risk management, a round table discussion on current governance issues as well as mental tools to stay strong in these challenging times. Delegates and participants had the opportunity to learn and enhance their knowledge from numerous speakers ranging from regulators, business leaders, academicians and industry experts.
