SSM - eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL)  print
Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) has, on 22 January 2018, announced that the submission platform based on the eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) format is being introduced in 2018.

This submission platform will be known as the “Malaysian Business Reporting System” (MBRS) which allows for the annual submission filing of:

Financial Statements and Reports (FS);
Annual Return (AR); and
Exemption Applications (EA) which are related to the FS and AR applications.

The guiding principles behind the MBRS are based on the financial and non-financial scopes as stated in the Companies Act 2016, ie applicable approved accounting standards for financial statements of Malaysian Private Entitles Reporting Standards (MPERS) and Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), respectively for private companies (other than companies administered by the Securities Commission Malaysia or Bank Negara Malaysia) and public companies.

The MBRS Portal will be launched by SSM in the second quarter of 2018. Once launched, companies may submit, pre-populate the AR data and manage the company’s dashboard via the portal.

SSM welcomes any views and comments from stakeholders with regard to the mTool. Members are invited to submit their views and comments using the feedback templates provided and email the same to mtool_comments@ssm.com.my by or before Wednesday, 28 February 2018. The comments submitted will assist SSM to improve and fine-tune the MBRS implementation plan.
